Default Been lurking a while, gonna start participating

Howdy everyone!!!

Names Larry coming at ya from Central California!! Been riding off and on for about 10 years (more off than on) but now back on and having a blast!!

Turned 40 a few months back and woke up and realized that life ain't getting any longer. Told the wife I wanted a cruiser and a tattoo! Being smarter than myself (as most wives are!!) she told me to get busy and buy them. I asked her why she was so agreeable and her reply was that a bike and a tattoo are cheap compared to a divorce for running around with 20 year-olds!! (as I always say, I'm smart, she's BRILLIANT!!!!!! lol) Anyways, I'm now the proud owner of a '99 Vulcan 1500 Classic (lost interest in the tattoo for the time being!!)

Anywho, just got back from the Laughlin River Run with my buddies and after cleaning up "Therapy" (I ordered a license plate frame that reads, "This is mine! Going to DMV tomorrow to see about the plates) and have a bunch of questions. So I figgered that I better quit lurking, introduce myself and get busy asking some questions so I can get busy tinkering!!

I've already learned a bunch from you pholks and I appreciate it all!! This is a great group of people and I'm looking forward to meeting a few in the near and far future!! Anyone in the area who wants to ride on weekends, feel free to pm me!!!

(I'm not always so wordy and apologize for the length of this. Sometimes I just get on a roll and don't know when to quit!!! Feel free to tell me to shut the he$$ up!!! LOL)

Alice's is a restaurant and motorcycle gathering spot in the hills between Santa Cruz and San Francisco. I forget the exact highway it is on, but anyways the restaurant is surrounded by fantastic bike roads. Parking lot is full of bikes on the weekends. Even if you're not living on the coast, it's worth taking a weekend trip out there.

Just google "Alices, California, motorcycle" and you'll get a bunch of hits.

Where do you live? - I live in Newman (near Patterson). I ride a sportbike, but have zero problem cruising with a cruiser!

Welcome to the forum. It's always good to have another "re-born" biker back on board.

Congrats! I turned 40 last may and got a bike in August. I told my wife I could get a bike or a girl friend as my mid-life crisis and she chose the bike. I guess she wants to keep me around after all. Or does she?
