Yep.

Try this, as a demonstration of just how hard that simple task might be.

With SOMEONE ELSE driving your car, go into heavy traffic (not rush hour), and keep your eyes closed for 5 minutes. Then wait until the driver spots a motorcycle coming up behind you. He or she will then tell you to open your eyes and which direction to look to see it. You have 5 seconds to spot it, then close your eyes and describe the motorcycle, the rider and give your exact location (within 1/4 mile). As soon as you have done that, turn your head to where you expect the motor to be, and open your eyes for 1/2 second. Is the motor there?

You have just simulated the situation that the traffic cop faces when dealing with a squid, driving and the radio all at the same time -- except you didn't have to do the driving.

The cop took off and was pulling away quickly....at that point anyone wanting to evade the cop simply needed to take any exit ramp, and ride off into the sunset.
If I was a cop, I sure would not just pass the guy I wanted for whatever reason, and speed away from him into the distance.
As I said before, they may have a different procedure there than most agencies here have. Also, as you yourself have noted, that cop car has nothing resembling "pick-up" -- maybe what they have to do is gun it to try to get whatever speed they can. Also, the squid wasn't doing what most do.

It's like all those scenes in cop shows, where the bad guy gets out of sight, then hides and sneaks around. In real life, he runs until he can't run. Same thing with squids. This one was there to play games with the cops.

It's entirely possible that the cops knew who it was, and were trying a special tactic to catch him because the normal ones hadn't worked.

Remember, "If it's stupid, but it works, it's not stupid!"

It is likely capable of a mind blowing 0-60 MPH run in say, under 3 minutes.
It can easily spin the tires to...........if there is snow on the road
i must say, you are the first person who i have heard this reaction from about the new Jeep. are you new to Jeeps ? just asking, because maybe you were expecting too much ? my 02, with the 4.0 inline six, pulls my TJ with 35" tires very well, with stock gearing. every report i have read, says that the JK motor is faster.

Yes, it is my first Jeep.

I really like it, or I would not have bought it.

But I guess being a guy thats always owned fast cars, trucks, bikes, boats etc. I just feel under-whelmed by the power is all.

Its been reliable so far, but is still a brand new 08 , so is untried yet.

It has an amazing offroad ability.....just wish when i slam the pedal to the floor it would move its butt is all.

But to feed the power monster within me, i will resort to other things is all.

Its great to be able to take the family, and go down the unbeaten path for sure.

Glad you like yours.....they seem like a good vehicle.

We have an older Jeep with the inline 6 as well. They're deceiving, you step on it and nothing really seems to be happening but that big inline six is just pumping out torque and next thing you know you're moving at a good clip. I'd never call it exciting, but it's not slow either, just different.

Kinda like driving an F350 with 650ft/lbs of torque, I wouldn't call that exciting either but the huge beast will out accelerate a lot of cars and bikes (DAMHIK)

It's all that torque that makes the Jeep pretty much unstoppable.

well that makes sense then. i bought mine with the lift, 35" tires, cat-back exhaust, intake and JET module and she pulls pretty darn good for stock gears. i have had it for a little over two years now, beat the ever living bag out of it, and she hasn't given me a lick of problems. honestly, i am waiting for something to break, especially with the big tires on the stock drivetrain. add a few power mods and that little V should wake up pretty good. if not, they do make turbo and supercharger kits for mine, most likely there will be some available for yours soon, if not already.

i used to LOVE stomping little Hondas and such in my super duty. here comes this 9000 lb, crew cab, dual wheel truck and they would never expect it. that is, until they heard my exhaust as i was slamming all 6 gears....

Me on my meanstreak, he kept pulling away, and I kept grabbing more throttle but there was no way I was catching up.

not staged. Just ghostrider. He has a lot of video's out. He also has a lot of copy cats. He has a GSXR 1000, a naked turbo Hayabusa (rediculous), and a WRX-STi that he uses.
