Question Vulcan 1500 blowing oil

I have a 1996 Vulcan 1500 (19,000 miles) that just started to dump oil and blow it all over the right side. After doing some cleaning and checking, it appears to be dripping from the very top of the rocker cover or maybe even from above the cover, and then blowing back. I'm told that these bikes had a problem with this if they were over filled with oil; that they would clog the breather and fill the air box or surge tank, then leak down onto the motor. Mine was over filled. It now has the correct oil level.
Does anyone know if there is a way to clean the breather or correct the problem without having to remove the engine or disassemble it? It appears that the breather tubes and the filter are inside the crankcase from what the manual shows!
Any ideas would be appreciated.

The breather is just a rubber tube that runs from the lower front of the front just to the back of the right side air intake backplate. If you disconnect it from the backplate, remove the oil filler cap, I think you ought to be able to blow through it with not a whole lot of resistance. I think. I never heard of overfilling causing any kind of blockage like you describe but it would make a mess of the right side air intake and gunk up the carb really nicely but it would have to be grossly overfilled. Cam plugs can leak on these bikes it's more common on the older ones but the cam plug on the front jug is on the opposite side of the engine.

Thanks for the info. It turned out to be the front rocker cover gasket leaking.
That turned into a 5 hour job, since no one within 60 miles of me had a gasket in stock, so I had to get some gasket material and make the gasket myself.
