Default Impulse buy? I think I did okay....

Wednesday 11:30PM: About to go to bed and thought maybe I should get back into riding motorcycles again (I have logged about 500 miles previously on Katana 750, first time riding). I have been considering it all year long.

Thursday 6:30AM: I think I will read over that motorcycle safety booklet and go get my permit today

Thursday 8:30AM: Now that I got my permit, I think I will go look at some motorcycles over lunch.

Thursday 10:45AM: Dealer is selling the following item
2005 Kawasaki ZX-6R Titanium 7700 miles warranty until March 2010 new tires and new oil change the day before for $5999

Thursday 12:20PM: I will take it.

Thursday 1:05PM: Hi Honey....I can't hear you, my phone is breaking up.

I thought I did okay on the deal, but some of my friends are saying the mileage appears to be high, which I thought so too until I saw the bike and its condition.

price sounds pretty good for that milage and still having a warrenty, now lets see some pics of it before your wife makes you get rid of it!

Retail is over $6100 and the milage is WAY UNDER what you would expect. Excessive would be over 14K miles. You might have gotten it for a little less from an individual, but it probably wouldn't have the tires, oil change or warranty.

Sounds like you got a deal. ENJOY

Congrats on the quick turn around! A person who makes a decision and gets things done really, really...really fast!

'05 ZX-6R in Titanium for $6k...that's the market price. There are morons that are trying to sell their used '08 250R's for as high as $5.3k...tell your friends that they're smoking crack...then blow them away on that bike!

Good to hear so many reassuring confirmations. I am really looking forward to getting the hang of riding on this bike and upgrading to the next level. I went out for a ride yesterday for an hour and the old shifting and turning came back to me right away. But I am not going past 25MPG until I get my riding pants and boots in next week.

Ya ever see the ad making the rounds on the boards about the guy that has a bike for sale, goes into the discription of the bike then ends up with "must sell, I guess when the wife says do what ever the hell you want didn't mean what I thought it did"

Your friends dont happen to be Harley owners do they??? Lots of them are owners, not riders......and likewise 8K miles would be about 8 years worth of riding.

I kid....well, maybe....in my area this happens to be pretty close to the truth.

Anyways, 7700 miles is honestly about 1 years worth of mileage if it was riden often.....its not to high at all.

You did good.

I did research before putting my bike up for sale and saw where most people (who were real lovers) did 10K per year. My bike is a classic 1986 Vulcan 750 and I just hit 26K2 mi. Remember the value is what you're willing to pay for what you want. You did good Grasshopper. Enjoy the ride and watch out for RCD.

considering I have 23k on my zx11 and 11k on my 250, you are pretty low in the mileage. Congrats on the impulse buy and dont say too much when your wife goes out and does an impulse buy for herself. lol Good luck with that. Get the pics up and let us see that sweet machine.

You did just fine on the deal. And the fact that I own an '05 636 in titanium, has absolutely nothing to do with my opinion.
