Hello everybody. I purchased a '77 KZ1000 from a buddy for $900. It has a little over 27,000 mi. on it. The engine has 3,000 miles on a rebuild. It has new tires, brakes, steel braided brake lines, Vance&Hines header and pipe w/o the baffle. It has custom paint, it is black w/mystic purplene flames. The bike had been sitting for a little while when I bought it. I cleaned the carbs and replaced the battery. The only problem i'm having is the #3 carb coughs every now and then. Any ideas what it could be?

The standard answer is to go and buy a can of gas additive called seafoam. Sea Foam. If this won't help, a check of valve clearances is probably needed. Do you have a factory shop manual? Repair Manual Catalog Online - RepairManual.com has one to be purchased of try onlinefreebooks.net
