Wow have you confused me, you put the petcock on prime to get the gas to flow, then opened the carb bowl drain screws, and are surprised gas flowed out ?
Did I read that right? Its should flow out. If you want it to stop leaking tighten the scews back up.

To Fastpakr: Because, if your float valve isn't sealing good and the petcock is flowing more volume than the drain of the float bowl, the excess fuel will overflow into the cylinder or the airbox and from there it can drain into the crankcase and contaminate your oil.

I'll try to explain what I did point to point:
1)Connected a hose at the bottom of each carburator float bowl 2)Run the lower end of the hoses into a can 3)Turned out the drain screw of 2 carburator (not all 4) 4)Turned the fuel tap to the PRI position ...then what happened: 5)Gasoline came out from the hoses connected to the carburators (that's right) 6)A few seconds after i turned the fuel tap on the PRI position fuel started to fall down from the middle of the bike, just under the center stand (it's not right) is it clear? |

It sounds like some of the fuel overflowed from the carbs into the airbox and is now running out of the airbox drain line.
P.S. Thats exactly what I described (in my previous post) could happen when you drain the tank in that manner. Last edited by StarGate : 2 Weeks Ago at 05:34 PM. |

I don't really know. Tomorrow I'm going to:
-Check the tank -Check carburators -Check oil and air filters -Check fuel tubes -Change engine oil -Change batteries -Change (eventually) sparks after all those operations I'll try to start my Gpz550 after 10 years of garage parking. |
