Ok, I Bought a 1985 KX80 off of ebay and i'm trying to get the thing running correctly, The problem that i'm having with it now is (the bike isn't running) when you shift the bike into first gear with the clutch squeezed in and push the bike forward the clutch isn't disengaging and it is turning the motor over, i have tried to adjust the clutch cable to fix the problem but, I also do not want to burn the clutch out at the same time. I'm hoping someone can help me out and give me some ideas as to what the problem is. Thanks in advance

make sure you have an 1/8 slack at the lever (between the lever and perch) that should take care of the cable (if its in good shape and not binding) if it still hangs up then it may be bad clutch plates (warped etc)

Due to the age of the bike the clutch plates may be sticking together. What I would suggest doing is draining the oil, then removing the cluch cover then taking a screwdriver or something and prying the cluch plates apart and see if that does the trick. We had almost the exact same thing at work happen and that did the trick.
