KX80 Stalls after about 30 secs.

Hi all, I have a problem with a KX80 late 80's maybe early 90's model. It has been in the shed for the last 2 years and i have just recently got it out for the lil one to ride. After initial problems to get it started it starts relatively easily when required. However I am having problems with it stalling after about 30 secs of running. I have changed the plug and all oils, the carby has been given a cleanout and looks in good condition. no matter how much tinkering either myself or a friend does we cannot get it to last much longer than 30 secs to 1 minute. Any help would be absolutely marvellous.

Will it stay running with the choke on? Simple things to check: Check for adequate fuel flow to the carb; carb float height; try removing the fuel tank cap when running to see if there's a vent problem. If the bike sat for 2 years you'll have plenty of varnish and crud in the fuel tank and fuel system to clean out.

when i got mine it had be sitting in some ones shed for 2 years from sitting there so long it had a spark problem and the needle in the carbi was perished
