Hey everyone, I picked up a 1987 Kawasaki Ninja 600 last week, and the tank was relatively rusty. I dropped it off at the acid-dip shop on Monday to get the rust taken care of.
My question is, once I get it back, will the inside of the tank need to be coated with anything such as the POR15 stuff? The bike is in the process of being torn down so I can get the frame acid washed as well. So the bike won't be running for some time. Should I fill the tank with fuel or coat it or leave it alone? I'll have to primer the exterior to protect it against rust. so... Thanks! - Jonathan |

just spray it down with wd40 inside and let it alone. once you start riding it the gas will keep it from rusting etc.
are you gonna have the frame powdercoated or painted ? powdercoating is the way to go (much tougher) |

Not completely sure yet about the frame. Since it's my first bike I'm already anticipating dropping it. So I might just rattle-can the frame to keep the rust off. |
