Default Battery ????

part 1

i go to start my bike this morning and it doesnt wanna fire and after like 4 trys the battery dies so i hit it with my jump pack and she wings over right away i took it for a good 1/2 hr ride came back let it sit for 30 minutes and it starts just fine could my battery be going i left nothing on it was a little nippy this morning but only like 60 degrees imma let it sit for a few hours just to see but i just spent $60 on a new headlight $22 on a new front brake switch and filled the tank this morning $6.88 thats 90 bucks from yesterday to today and a new battery costs $50 i know a new battery will do me good but ughh this thing is killing me i will go buy a battery probably when the shop opens down the block lucky me lol 3 blocks away

part 2

i looked at the diagrams of my bike and it looks like i have a generator ?? 81 kz 440 so if its not my battery do i have a generator it looks that way says i have a generator would this be hard to replace if needed i do know alot about a cars recharging system but not a bike.....

I know a few guys bought batteries at walmart for cheap. I like a maintenance free battery.

Here is a thread about testing your regulator. Hope this helps.

you can check the charging system real easy with a multi-meter.
bike off = 12v+
bike @ idle = 12.5v+
bike at 3k rpm = 13.5v+
if your bike does this correclty then your battery is dying. you can have it LOAD TESTED at any bike/car shop.
as for the generator- thats NOT whats in the pic. that is your REGUALTOR ONLY, the rectifier will be built into the generator more than likely

Update: i changed my battery and man there was almost no fluids in it so hopefully the new battery is all i need i should have checked this earlier.....
