Piston source for 86 KX500

Hey all, I had to have the jug on my 86 KX500 bored and am trying to find a piston for it. The machinist is also trying to find out if it can be sleeved so I can reuse the stock piston. Apparently Wiseco and all the rest have stopeed making this model. Will another year work? Any advice is appreciated.

call these guys, maybe they will know compatible pistons. maybe even call weisco ...........

From what I know, not sure on the part #'s matching, but the 87 kx 500 used a single ring piston, but I found that the dual ring from an 88 and up matched

i have a 86 KX500 also and what you can so is use a later model KX500 piston but get the top machined flat otherwise you will have to get your head recut,anyway flat top piston is meant to combust fuel better .
