Default Checking the oil level - Vulcan 500

The position of the oil level window makes it impossible to hold the bike up straight and check the window. Till now, I have asked the wife to sit on the bike while I check the level. Today I was sitting on the bike in the garage and noticed a large (2' x 4') mirror leaning up against the wall. What if ????? So I held up the mirror while sitting on the bike and like a miracle, I can see the window.

Good idea!! I always have Chris come out and crouch by the bike while I'm sitting on it to check mine.

BUT, do check your manual and make sure you're supposed to check it upright... some bikes you're actually supposed to check it when it's leaning on the kickstand.
