I noticed my overtemp light come on today and found that the fan had a blown fuse. Replaced the fuse and it blew again. It turned out to be a small rock ( about 3/8 " in diameter ) wedged in between the fan blades and the shroud. Easy fix! While I was troubleshooting this I discovered a frayed wiring harness. This is on the left side by your left foot in front of the cover that houses your tool pouch and MOM. There is a wire bundle that is wraped with electrical tape that disappeares into the lower engine cover. It hadn't caused any problems yet but it was only a matter of time. A few wrapes with fresh tape cured that. Might be worth a check for those riding Vulcan 1500 Classics. Mine is a year old with 11000 miles on it.

Thanks! While you're there on the left side, check the wires going to the kickstand switch under the left floorboard. Mine were frayed badly.
