Default head gasket sealant

Has anyone else used rtv to seal a cylinder head gasket? What are my other options? For reference I have a 91' kaw ninja zx6-d. The head gasket is kawasaki layered stamped steel.

don't think you need any sealant on the gasket. all the spray is for is to make it tacky so it will stick to the head (on a car, truck, ect...) and you don't need that on a bike because the cylinders has locating dowels that will hold it in place.

When rebuilding my EX500, which uses a sheetmetal head gasket, I cleaned off the old gasket with lacquer thinner and scotchbrite and then put a good thick layer of engine spray paint on it. The gasket comes from the factory with paint on it which acts as a sealer of sorts when it gets hot.
