Default Carbs: cross-referencing

I recently bought a bike off of ebay which is 2 states away that i will be picking up and driving back. It is a 1990 Ninja 600 and has a high rev problem in which the current owner says that the carbs need rebuilding. My question is does anyone know of what carbs from what years can cross with this bike. I have found some on ebay, but they are off of a 1991 91 Kawasaki ZX 600 C.
Anyone know if these carbs will work on the 90 model? or would it be better to just rebuild the original carbs on the bike. Remember that i am traveling by bus to pickup bike but i am mechanically inclined and have cleaned carbs on a 1996 Suzuki RF 600 model and they worked perfect when i put them back on. Only thing is that i only took off the bowls and clean the bottom of carbs. Supposedly the current carbs on the bike are leaking gas which tells me that the floats are sticking. So my main question is do I buy carbs on ebay ( if they will interchange) and just switch out or is the float sticking problem an easy fix on the bike. Please help I am new to the forums but I will be picking up in 2 weeks. thanks, oh if anyone is wondering why i did not have the owner take to a shop they are supposedly 2 months behind.

personally i would find a truck and bring the bike home that way (u-haul has them all day long) then go thru the stock carbs with new gaskets sets but your are in luck cause according the micro-fiche for the 90 & 91 models they are exactly the same part # (only 1,038$ a set ) so you can buy the carbs off ebay and take a chance your buying something worse than you already have or go get the bike and rebuild yours
good luck

you'd be better off IMO to simply spend a few bucks and rebuild the existing carbs. probably only cost at most $100 to get everything you'll need, then make it run.

Or, buy the other carbs, REBUILD them, and stick them under your arm on the bus ride, so you have one less thing to worry about.

I looked it up on old bike barn, the ZX600 carbs use the same kit as the EX500, so the kit IS still available assuming you're using Keihin carbs on your bike.

With a manometer. There are hundreds of brands and several types on the market. There are even some home made versions. Here is what I use and I have the same carbs.
