I have purchased a 1987 kz 305 b2 for my wife. The bike was purchased from a friend in boxes. I was riding with my friend 2yrs ago when the number 2 cyl. rod broke. My friend decided to disassemble the bike thinking that he would repaint it, and find a engine for it. He did find an engine that is leak free and has good compression, but lost interest. I purchased the bike, repainted it, replaced seals, packed all of the bearings, and have produce a nice looking rolling chasis. The engine that he purchased as a replacement is a 81 model. I replaced the rt.side cover with the one from the 87 model engine for the later clutch arm, as well as plugging the hole on the left side where the clutch release pushrod went through. I also changed the flywheel to the 87 model type and the left side cover from the 87 model, so I could use the CDI ignition. I have checked all of the ignition items I/A/W the kz305 maintainence manual, and all check good. Can anyone help me out with a simple way to wire up the ignition only? All I want is a headlight, taillight, ignition, and starter. I am not an idiot, but I am also not an electrical engineer. Please help.
