Default Replacing a head gasket

Hi, I found out my headgasket and base gasket are leaking, I saw smoke and oil slowly coming out and little air bubbles. So how hard is it to replace these would it be best to take it to a dealer or get a shop manual and do it my self?
thanks

2-strokes are relatively easy if you have some wrenching experience. Get a manual and read through the procedure & you should be able to handle it.

Basically pull the pipe, disconnect the carb (airbox if necessary) from the head, remove the head & remove the cylinder. Put rags between the piston/crank & the cases to keep the piston from moving around and getting scarred, and to keep gunk out of the cases when you remove/scrap the old cylinder base gasket. Great time to hone the cylinder & replace the rings if you have some miles on it.
