    Default Question about fuel disposal

non motorcycle related here, i have a 2 gallon container thats a mixture of 2 cycle oil and regular gas that i need to dump. Would a regular gas station let me dump it there? Is there another place i can go? I dont have anyone i know who needs this type of fuel or a lawmower as old as mine and i need the gas can i have.

    Thanks

Toxic Waste, always a problem. Costs plenty to get rid of unless the city is having one of those free disposal days and then they want the container of course.

I live in the mountains. I'd pour it out and light it, keeps the weeds down.

Well...I was in the same predicament a few years back and what I did was I mixed the 2-cycle gas with the regular stuff for the lawn mower and just used it up that way. Didn't hurt the mower, still using it. If you don't want to do that maybe donate it to a lawn service as they have to have weed whackers and chainsaws that are 2-cycle.

thats the thing, i got a really old mower for nothing from a friend who says it hasnt been started for years, and i mean, YEARS. Well after making the right mixture, im tossing out the mower but have a few gallons left and the next mower i get im sure will only use regular gas.

as it turns out, a landscaper was in front of my neighbors house. I asked him, and he let me get rid of it as i dumped it into one of his grass barrels. Turns out, i ended up buying a lawnmower(instead of this 15 year old handmedown) which turned out to be a commercial type mower so i coulda used the gas anyway!

You could have used it in a regular mower without any issues anyway. Half the time if we run out of regular gas we will use the mixed gas in our lawn tractor and 4 stroke mower. Meh, it works.

Its amazing what one will run on. I had my kerosine in a gas can and my
father in law acidently used it to run the lawn mower with no problems.

I have a big stump I am trying to burn out. I am useing my old gas
    for that purpose.

LOL! I have considered a new purpose for my old brake fluid, but my neighbour has been much less annoying as of late. I guess his saturn is spared for this year at least.

I used to work at a golf course, and there's nothing funnier than someone accidentally pouring diesel into a warm mower. Especially when they can't figure out for the life of them why it wont shut off come quitting time, even after they've pulled the spark plug wires... LOL
