Well this weekend I pulled the carb assembly off and cleaned the carbs out, of course I forgot to remove the stupid jet that sits under the washer (I allways forget that step) and I'll need to do it again, but it is running better. My question is about something I found while I was in there. between the 1-2 and 3-4 carbs there is a solid plastic line going between them they each come out to a plastic tube that looks as if there should be a hose on it or capped. The only thing that looks close on the diagram is what they call the air vent and it looks like there were some hoses on it in the original diagram... anyone know what thats for and if it will help me at all to try and run it like its meant to be? the hoses are deffinetly long gone.

one more thing... the stock air box ****ed me off to no end when it came to putting everything back together. Is there a cheap alternative to using the box? (not the K&N's that cost more than my bike) I know it could throw off my air flow, but wow I never want to work with that air box again.

First of all, if thats all the paitants you have about the air box my suggestion is to get rid of the bike now and save your sanity. If you want to tix it we can do that also. There are work arounds for everything but some take patiants. All hoses on the carburater are important and must be in place for the bike to run right. First of all lets go back to the carburater. What jets are under a washer? If your talking about the float, ok, I know where youare at. Starting at that piont, remove the float by sliding the pin that it hinges on. You may have to use a small pin punch but be careful. Under the float is a screw thast holds the float jet in place, remove it and pull out the jet and seat. If it pulls out easy the you are going to have to replace the O ring on the seat. this replacement part is , I will have to get it later but you can buy them at Lowes or any place that sells o Rings for about .10 cents each. I will also get you the info on the hose hook up.

I'd love to let you have a look at my bike, maybe a test ride would help you see what the trouble is

Then outrun the flying wrench.
I am on the Honda CB750/900/1100F SuperSport Website thread concerning the northeast ride. I am standing next to a 1979 CB750F Bagger. Not mine. In my HD shirt. |

The hoses you are talking about are vacum lines. One goes to the fuel valve and one goes to the vacum switch valve which is probably missing. Cap them off and you will notice a big difference. It should also smooth out the engine.
