    Default clock lights and tail light

    first of all i would like to say hello to everyone on the site i will be a regular user now as i have just bought a 98 zx7r ninja today but am having a few problems.
    the tail light bulbs were blown the little side light above the headlights doesent work and the tail light doesent work i replaced the tail light bulbs but the tail light still dont work. the tail light and small front side light come on when you turn the key to the parking light position. and the rev speed dials dont light up either.ive checked the fuses but they are ok
    can someone please help.

    Hi from Crappy weather UK Dean

    The Parking light facility is a separate circuit to the Ignition on lighting.
    So i would check the light switch first on the right handlebar..

    Have you got yourself a Manual yet as that's the FIRST accessory you should own

    hi m8 i bought the bike about 3 hours ago i will get a manual on monday or tuesday the headlight work on main beam and full beam but not on side light and clocks dont light up either so you think it could be the switch on the handle bar could i take it apart and spray sone wd 40 would that work

    Yep you could try that, Spray some when you have it opened up and work the switch on & off, Could be some crap on the contacts.

    i had a gpz500s on an m.reg i just passed my test last month and the gpz didnt feel right in the corners i didnt feel safe on it at all. but this zx7r feels amazing in the corners really stable but cant go out on it tonight because of no tail light but tommorow will soon be here and i cant wait ..early night tonight i think ..ha ha ha

    Yep the 7R is nicely planted especially in the corners, Only drawback is the useless turning circle......watch you fingers don't get trapped between the Bars & Tank..

    thats what happened when i tried turning around in the bike dealers car park i couldnt use the controls because my wrists and hands were on the tank but i wil know next time

    been out the garage greenisbest pulled the switch controls apart its like new in there sprayed wd40 in and really worked the light switch but still no tailor side laghts or clock lights

    Maybe wait for the Manual and start testing for feed at the switch and beyond...

    i thought i would tell you the news greenisbest. i took it to a bike electrition today and it was a faulty connection in the handle bar switch. its all done now for the sum of £44 and when we were there i bought the wife a new helmet so we are of out for a ride tonight.
