Default Service Manual?

Anyone know where I can find a kawi service manual #99924-1254-03 (or anything for the ZX600-J4) and have it either today or tomorrow?

It's time for my 600 mile preventitive maintanance, and the dealership can't get me in until Tuesday. The weekend is supposed to be perfect here, and I was considering just doing it myself since it doesn't affect my warranty. The attitude I got when I asked the service department to let me know of any cancellations today pretty much sealed the deal.

So, besides the manual question, what kind of stand or something should I look for? I don't have any experience with bike repair, but I am confident that I can do any service as long as I have a manual that spells it out for me.

Thanks

Alternately, if anyone has the service manual and wouldn't mind scanning the oil filter and steering check pages while I wait for a manual in the mail that would be cool too

I'll get the pages from my '02 ZX6R manual scanned and posted for you today Giska.
I would simply change the oil and filter and ride this weekend, then take it in on Tuesday. Sorry your dealership doesn't sound cooperative right now, but try to be sympathetic--it's New Years weekend and they're probably on skeleton staff right now.
Good luck and stay tuned.

Thanks man. I might follow your suggestion and just do the oil and filter, along with the drive chain adjustment (every 600 miles according to the OM), and take it in Tuesday for the rest of the stuff.

Reading through the owner's manual, I'm confident I could do all of it, but I'm not sure I want to. I called up the dealership and inquired about them doing the other stuff, for which I was quoted "like 37 bucks", which incidently, is a pretty weird off the top of your head quote.

The only thing that bugs me is that she said "there's only a couple of other things to do, like check tire pressure". I asked about the list in the owner's manual, and she said they'd just be following the same list I have. I'm gonna just chalk it up to "the person answering the phone is not neccassarily a mechanic" theory, being that there's more than a couple of things on that list, and tire pressure isn't one of them

Just for posterity's sake:

Idle speed check
Throttle grip play check
Brake light switch check
Brake fluid level check
Clutch adjust
Steering check
Nut, bolt and fastener tightness check
Engine oil change
Oil filter replace
Radiator hoses, connections check
Drive chain slack check

As far as I can tell, other than fluids, it's just a bunch of simple adjustments, which is why I might keep my "like 37 bucks" and just do it myself. The steering check is the only thing I have no idea about.

Maybe I should ask, since your advice has so far steered me in the right direction, why do you say I should just do the oil and filter and let the dealership do the rest?

Hey Giska.
Rather than risk the wrath of KHI's lawyers by putting it up on my site, shoot me an email (calamarichris@yahoo.com) and I'll send you the pages as PDFs.
Gracias and Happy New Year.

yagiska, Id just do as suggested. I had the same situation. Had 497 miles on mine, going on a 600-mile trip that weekend and they were booked solid. I went in and talked to the mechanic. He told me as long as it was starting and running fine to just change the oil & filter and bring it in when I got back. The oil change was the most important part to get any metal fillings out of the new engine. I did my 600 mile at 1200 miles. No problems.

And you got my hopes up there, but to my suprise(sarcasm) they don't have a kh125 manual. So i'm afraid saying they have manuals for everything would be stretching the truth a little.
