Default Ninja ex500 High Idle

I finally got the bike back together and it runs now. But now it idles really high. At like 4k. I've had the carburetors rebuilt. Any suggestions?

Check for air and vacuum leaks. Check the carb holders really good.

I'm not sure yet. It likes to idle pretty consistently around 3k after it warms up. The throttle cables and choke appear to be fine. I'm going to take some sea foam to it and then play with the idle set screw. I'm not sure if this will affect it, but the large hose coming out of the top airbox (about an inch or so in diameter), the metal piece that it is connect to is pretty dirty on the inside. Would this affect anything and how should I clean it?

Well I cleaned mine by plugging the hole in the airbox, running a single hose to connect left side to the right(top engine ports), unplugged the vacuum line and capped the port then tossed everything that was left over in the trash can.

My tach was messed up. The pickups were dirty and it read about double actual rpm. Might be a stupid reply, but I'm a new guy too.
