grinding noise from starter clutch??? under LH CC cover (alternator):
I replaced the large starter sprocket, starter chain, and small sprocket of the starter assembly because the starter chain was slipping over the large starter sprocket. but still here a grind when i hit the start button like the starter clutch is slipping...but engine partially turns over *I had the starter clutch off and it looked perfect, it also locked tight when i turned it back.... *how do you know if the starter clutch is broken?...the engine turns over for awhile and then slips w/ a grinding noise? does that mean its shot...its sipping due to a lubrication issue..tried that, still not 100% sure its the clutch that's slipping http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/fo...ter-clutch.jpg Must you replace the entire clutch or can you buy the pieces (springs, rollers, etc.) and redo the clutch thanks for any help |
