Hi all,
I have a 1981 Kz250 Csr with 14,000 miles. Last year at the end of the summer I was cruising around and noticed that my downshifts weren't as smooth as they use to be. With the clutch lever pulled all the way in the bike sort of lurches (like the rear tire is locking up for an instant) and makes a loud klunking noise when downshifting. The problem is more noticeable when shifting from 2nd to 1st. It also seems to be a little harder to upshift. When putting the bike in gear from neutral it jerks forward and makes a klunking noise. The problem occurs at all engine speeds and none of the gears are slipping. Anyone have an idea of what this could be? The bike is very driveable as it is, but it's kind of annoying and I feel like I'm damaging something everytime I downshift. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. |
