    Default New life for Batteries

Found this product on our Aussie sister site. They don't sell it in a whole lot of places here in the states, but I'm going to get some.

    Inox-MX3 The Supreme Lubricant...

    Look under "products, battery conditioner".

Inox is a reasonable brand, but like any 'wonder' cures - it is too good
to be true. Think of it as a get out of jail free card, in an emergency!
There are at least three other brands that do the same, Inox is the most
    expensive.

So it's not worth driving 250 miles to get a bottle?

They do have a guarantee if you use it in a new battery. I had never seen anything like this before, thought it might be worth a shot.

    Exclamation

    Nope!
As the advertising sez, for a serviceable battery!!
That means battery plates not deformed, no battery
material dropped to the bottom of the battery cells.

Or, the battery has not been left standing for an
excessive time, or an excessive time discharged.
That will leave sulphur on the plates which goes
    hard. . .

As an apprentice, I spent far too long in a battery
shop. Lead Acid battery chemistry hasn’t changed that
much in the last hundred years, let alone the last
    thirty+ I’ve been working.

I’m not a chemist, but have known two people use
Inox and another brand, both worked great for less
    than a week.

That said, a good ride out is always a good excuse.

Especially if you can have fun with a sales-rat, plus
a good coffee at the other end.

It's for sale at a Harley dealership, I don't think it's worth the ride!

May still check them out. If they stop the sulfation, they can't hurt any.

Tina, I've got some great land down in FL for a home building site. All it needs is a little soil compaction and it's ready to go. Great 360 degree view of the Everglades. Wanna buy it?

Does it come with gators to eat the headless drivers they have down there?

Seriously, I use to make batteries for a living. I wouldn't be surprised there is something out there that can slow sulfation on the plates. But it's probably not for sale to the general consumer.

A whip and knuckledusters. . . should have kept my mouth shut.

I'm pretty harmless, takes quite a bit to get me angry.

The whip was for that pic, but gloves are in use daily. Never know when metal plated gloves will come in handy!
