If she dies just like hitting the kill switch, test the ignition coils and the pulser coils for resistance when cold and then again when she dies. Your manual will tell you the resistance service limits. You'll probably find them within limits when cold but off the chart when she dies.
Had the same problem with my Z900 and it turned out to be the pulser coils going open circuit when the engine warmed up.
