Hi all from the newbie,
I'm considering buying (as a project) a 1981 GPZ1100 that has been fitted with z1100 carbs running pods not a stock airbox. Apparently it runs rough although I haven't heard it yet I'm not in the mood to for a 120 mile round trip to look at a pig. The carb swap is the only modification that I know about, and here is the bit that is showing my ignorance about injected Kawasaki motors. Should there have been more than "lets whip these injected things off, and stick these non-injected ones on!" It all sounds too simple to me - wouldn't you need to modify something else e.g. electricals etc. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated Cheers Carl |

A lot of the fuel injection parts on that bike are prone to failure, and NO LONGER AVAILABLE from Kawasaki. The used parts have generally suffered the same fate. It really IS as simple as putting on a set of J carbs (or 35CRs).
