Default 02 Meanstreak PC3 Map

I have V&H longshots on my bike. I have a PC3 on her as well. My question is about the PC maps that are available for this bike. I have loaded 3 different maps into the PC and I can't find any difference in the performance. The bike appears to run exactly the same no matter what map I use. I have blocked off the reed valves but I still don't see/hear anything different than before I blocked them off? The bike is running fine, has good acceration but seems to pop some on decel. I am wondering if the PC is a scam and I didn't need to buy one in the first place.

You can use the Powercommander software to compare the maps. They might be very simular. Usually it would be the 0% and 2% collumns you would be looking at in order to deal with decel backfires. Sometimes adding 5 to each of these columns from 1500 to 3000 rpm will solve the problem. If that doesn't work change all values in just the 0% collumn to -30 in the same rpm range.

If you can't do this yourself e-mail me your map and I'll send you a couple back with the changes listed above.

or better yet- take it to a dyno and get a custom map made. This is the best solution if you can afford it.

I found the PC didn't make any real difference until I changed the air intake. THEN it becomes manditory. Pipes alone..... not so much.

If you wany to experience the benefits of the PC3 you must go to a shop with a dyno so they can create a map for your bike. The shop I work for charges $250 for a custom map. Many of the jobs we get are from 'hobbyists' who push the buttons by the seat of their pants. Most create a condition that results in poor performance and poor gas mileage. When they leave the shop they are all smiles.
I recently bought an 02 Meanie and installed a PC. We found that the bike in all stock condition was a bit too rich and with the Pc were able to optimize the A/F. No other change resulted in 5hp and 5ft/lb of torque and good gas mileage. Shop name. JDS Cycles, Roselle Park, N.J. 908 245 2445 Joe or Tom
