Default What the %^() is this thing?!

OK, changing my chain and sprockets on the 81 LTD550 (see my avatar pic). Everything going according to Clymer manual, remove the rear wheel, and end up with a part I don't know what the *&() it is! See the attached pic: Can anybody tell me where this came from so I can get done wrenching and start riding?

Also, I will be posting pics of the old sprockets soon. DO NOT NEGLECT CHAIN CARE! THe previous owner of my bike obviously did, and I can't believe the bike could still move! Pics to come.

picture isn't very good, but I'd suspect it is a spacer or something similar.

Can I have two guesses?

#1. It looks an awful lot like item 92043A, Brake rod pin (what the adjuster works against for the rear brake).

#2 - Crap. I guess I don't need two guesses.

And us Kanooks will forgive all of America's sins as soon as they sign over the land rights to Florida. Hell, we basically own the place anyway - at least 6 months of the year.

I think the British may have something to say about the time share thing!

Today is Canada Day, not British Dominion Day. We'll let them have it from May 1st to September 1st, no charge - Just clean up after the hurricanes.

I spent a year in Florida! I had no idea that half of Britain wintered there! Along with the half the northern states of the US, and Canada, of course!

I drove from Orillia Ontario (central ontario, off of Georgian bay) to Fort Myers one winter. When we got to the border (17 hours in my '86 Civic GL 4 door: 5 spd manual, choke cable moved over to the cruise control pulley) I'm saying YES, we made it! My girlfriend laughed at me pretty hard. Fort Myers is 6 hours in from the Georgia Border!

No wonder Florida has such trouble counting votes...

You'll probably have to fight Cuba for the rights to Florida now.

It was early (we left at 7pm), about 2 in the afternoon. We stopped at a Wafflehouse and ordered up some breakfast - 17 hours straight, no breaks, in a 86 civic turning 3400 rpm at 70 mph on 13" Dunlops my right knee is about too explode (didn't move the choke cable till after breakfast), oh yes, I had a HORRIBLE cold too.

Our server looked like she'd frequented the buffet one time to many, and between huphs and puffs she manages to spit out "Wood yall like some grits?" as she finished taking our order.

I figured I've come this far I may as well know... "What are grits?". She says, "If yall dono, you dont wants none."

I thanked her for her discretion, and gave her a good tip.

Being from Michigan, I asked the same thing. She explained it to me, and I said, "Why would anyone eat that crap when they make Coco Wheats?"

Truer words were never spoken. Most people that know "dont wont none neither".

One summer I was traveling with my kids headed out on vacation and stopped at an AwfulWaffle. I told the kids to order whatever they wanted. My 6 year old son looks at the waitress and says "I want eggs". She said "OK, how would you like those?" He starred at her for a minute and then firmly says "COOKED!" It took 45 minutes to get our food because the waitress had to tell that to every living soul in the building.

Before you all shun grits entirely, try a good cheese grits casserole.
That's one of my all time favorites. Yummy. JMK.

Yes, but hand them 500 bingo cards and a dobber, and they've got no problems, go figure.

Which reminds me of a joke:

How do you get a sweet 90 year old woman to say the "F" word?

Get another sweet 90 year old woman to yell "BINGO!!!"

A Navy that consists of inner tubes and a '55 chevy truck floating on 55gal drums doesn't sound like much, but boy watch out!
