Big bike goes vroom vroom

So I'm hoping someone can help me because I can't figure it out for the life of me. I have an '06 Mean Streak and the previous owner had installed the integrated LED brake light along with some bullet markers. Only problem is, it wasn't securely fastened and after about 1500 miles or so, jostled loose and frayed the crap out of the wires. I pulled off all the electrical tape and it's one big soldered mess in there. Does anyone have a diagram or, better yet, pictures of what's supposed to connect where so I can get this working again? I'm hoping I don't need to get a whole new setup for under the light, but things are pretty messed up and one of the white blocks cracked open.

The only thing I can say is grab a volt meter and start tracing out your wires.
There is not going to be much the same from bike to bike with aftermarket lights. It's not that hard to find +12vdc and ground. Also where the wires wore through the insolation just solder up the same colors. Should work out. But double chec with a volt meter.. |

Do you have the electronic copy (.pdf file) of the service manual for the Mean Streak? It's about 13.5MB in size. There are some wiring diagrams around page #472. Hit me up if you have problems locating a copy.

Black/w yellow---> Common Ground
Red-------------> Common Power Blue-------------> Brake Light Grey------------> Right signal Green-----------> Left signal These 5 wires are all that is needed back there. What I mean by "common ______" is that one will work for several functions. For example, the red power goes to the license plate light and the brake. I hope this helps, I just spent all weekend working on mine getting LEDs installed and working. Good luck. |
