I prefer the darker roasted-hopp beers, with more malt, even better if they toast the malt first.
If you're going to start that beer snob stuff you're going to have to find somewhere else to drink. I don't care if you started the lounge or not.

Yeah! Mechanics are poor. If the pop top is clean on the can, we're drinking it.

Tod of the beer knowledge,

Since I turned 30, every time I drink more than 1 beer I get heartburn. What's that all about?

Thx,

Rob.

Whatever's in the cooler and it's better if somebody else brought it.

Now that you mention it, I've never met a mechanic that came from a wealthy family.

Just to set the record straight...

I am indeed a Beer Afficianado, but I'm by no means a snob.
I'm actually even a card-carrying member of the International Beerstuds.
I drink an Icehouse or a Busch if it's handy, and I really like the dark stuff, and microbrews when I'm in the mood for them.
I like all types of Beers for different reasons, and different situations.

If I'm just hangin with my buds on the porch, or here for example, I'll grab a cold Miller or Bud and be happy as a clam in wet sand, and I've been known to come home from the store with a case of "The Beast" under each arm as well.

But why does he get heartburn after one beer? Is he just a light weight?

You really need to do yourself a favour and try an exceptionally good beer then made by Nelson brewing......Their beer called After dark, is basically as close to perfection as beer can get IMHO.

Is it more a thing in the USA that mechanics are paid poorly.
I have found that here in Canuckle, any decent Tech is paid fairly well.

If I were to hire a new tech to work for me, to get anyone good I would need to start them at no less than $30 per hour.

A little less in Ontario, but about the same $28/hour is the average for a dealer mech.

I don't know how much things cost up there, but where we're at $15 an hour would be the going rate for a seasoned mechanic.

I'm no where near that but I"m not foolish enough to think my skill level is high enough to deserve that kind of pay.

I was eluding to automotive, powersports is less. Marine pays about the same, 6 months of the year.

I heard marine pays good too but don't like that they are used less a year than bikes. bikes are duel purpose toys, boats are pure toys (unless you live on an island somewhere I guess).

Worked my way throught college as a boat mechanic. '73-'75 in Portland, Oregon in a shop under the south end of the I-5 bridge and '76-'78 at a resort marina in north Idaho. I was making about double minimum wage. The master mechanic I was working for was making about twice what I was. You think motorcycle owners are testy, try some family guy with one week a year on the lake, a boat that he just hauled back to the house last summer after his vacation, 2-stroke outboard, never winterized it, brought it back to the lake, has three screaming kids and a *****chy wife who want to be on the water. It gets ugly fast.

Never want to do that again and convinced me that I would never own a power boat.

Nope. He disappeared about 5 weeks ago, right after he had the week off during Isle of Man.

elr658 showed up today for about an hour.
