Well it's still early yet but everything is good so far. Got the battery replaced in my atv an it fired up and ran like a top. Got it put back together and washed so it's ready for this winters hunting.

I hunt on a federal refuge that is closely monitored by federal wildlife management officers. Their atv authorized trails are plainly marked with high vis yellow paint. Stray off of the authorized areas and you will be invited to leave immediately and you can be sure you will never be back. Your gun must be completely unloaded (magazine included) an inside a zipped or fastened case while the atv is in motion. If you get caught throwing so much as a cig butt on the ground you will find yourself the proud owner of a littering award that will set you back about $150 + you will have to retrieve the discarded item. I've had friends that have gotten in trouble because they were parked near a discarded piece of trash that they didn't even put there. They have more rules than you can imagine and they are very diligent about enforcing them. I've been hunting there almost every year since 1970 and never received so much as a warning. When I hunt on land that is owned by friends, I practice the same rules with the exception that I can drive any and everywhere my atv will go and my rifle is not in a case when I drive.

No got no wife no mo.
As for the racks on my atv, one gun rack and one rack front and one rear that will each carry up to at least 300 lb. I've tested those racks by hauling my brother on them. |

Well, Piece was trying to ride in the p/u again tonight, but I made him ride home.
Bastarrd didn't want to start, but finally fired up. Then idle jumps to 2200, and stayed there whether it's cold or hot. Guess I'll be looking for an air leak or idle adjustment this weekend. |

Man I hate days when everything I touch goes badly.
Spent 3 hours today doing a 30 minute job. Thanks for letting me whine.

know how that goes. I spent 2 hours doing a 30min install of an electric fan in my ranger.
hopefully the 2 hour estimated removal of the trans goes well.

To err is human...
...to really screw things up you need tools.

Well, I have a call in to my old boss, seems the parts department is hiring. Employee discount on bikes I ACTUALLY OWN is a beautiful thing. Still waiting for the mailtruck too. Last edited by elr658 : 10-06-2008 at 03:42 PM. |

from my point of view, if I take the amount of time that is charged or even a little less I'm golden. yeah, I know, the less time it takes the more money everyone makes.

Really, there are Some scenarios,
1. The guys who are are really expert and beat the flat rate by a BUNCH of time and do it right. 2. The guys that take forever and screw it up anyway 3. The guys that are pretty much competent and do it in about the time allowed. 4. The fellas that (these aren't the techs... who are stickin' it to the customers and selling bunchas of "menu" items. 5. The "techs" that are just learning and really trying to learn to do it right. Keee-ripes! I like the guys in Cats 1 3 and 5 Wish that things were better.... Sometimes the customer is not right, but if we did a better job on the front end the customer would know what to expect and the PR would be better. Best wishes for a better working relationship between the "dealer/shop" and the M/C owner. The M/C is a far more integrated and complicated machinge than the cage and the speed of change makes it hard for the "average" tech... (mechanic?) to get right in the time allowed. I would love to have a good "tech" in my back pocket! Many, if not M/C folks are pretty much perfectionists, for GOOD reason! Rode 400 miles today and wanted to be confident that "Me and my tech" had everything in place... It's no fun to call for a tow! Ride On, Friends! |
