Default No power to the wheels

The bike (97 zx-6r) died. Figured it was gas, now the engine runs fine after getting gas.

I can rev the engine, but when I start to release the clutch, the engine dies.

I'm kind of a noob and just started with the DIY. Not mechanically inclined but trying to fix that. Bought the manual a few weeks ago, started with some regular maintenance type stuff.

Any suggestions for a starting point.

Yes the kickstand is up. When ever the clutch is slightly released, the engine dies.

kickstand switch is probably malfunctioning. does it die because of load or does it die like the ignition was turned off?

if it resembles turning off the key, check your kickstand switch.

You guys are amazing. I did nothing more then "fiddle" with the kickstand area. (Cleaned the area around the kickstand basically) Started her up, no problems. Thanks for the help.

Sorry, sometimes I'm overcome by my need to build my streetfighter. I will 'try' to be helpful to the ZX6 guys. At least the post 2000 ZX6 guys

Besides, All i need is a complete front end with brakes, rim and tire plus a complete swing arm assembly with rear rim and tire (preferably new front and rear tires) with rear sets and master cylinder. I'm sure I can pick that up cheap...
