Default how do i use a multy meter

im just wondering if any one out there can help
me ive got a klf 300 atv what im trying to do is im having problems with my rectifier it gets real hot not normal any way im just trying to elimnate problems at the moment im trying to test the three yellow charge wired them being ac i dont know how to put the multy meter on them do i put the earth prong to eath on the frame and the red prong on each individual yellow wire or both prongs on the yellow wires any help on this will be very helpfull thanks mr351clevland

Each end on the wires. 1 to 2, 1 to 3, and so on.

Do you have a manual? If not, ask in the ATV section what the spec should be, someone there should be able to tell you if no one answers here.

Not sure your model.
Ballpark: 50vAC or higher at 5,000 RPM
