The bike......1983 750 spectre..........the problem, from 3000 to 6500 the bike is missing on 2 cylinders under load and won't go faster than 6623, I need a test method for the igniter and ignition pickup and a general idea as to what to check and parameters to test readings. I have a auto ranging multimeter and all the tools a man would need. I just don't have the specs. I can't get a book since the bike don't run and it's all I had running to get to town. please help!

pickup coils----360-540 ohms
at the IC igniter between pins 1 and 9 for cylinders 1 and 4 pins 2 and 8 for cylinders 2 and 8 infinity between ground and pins 1,2,8 and 9. Timing advance is electronic 10 degrees at idle and 40 degrees 3300-3900 rpm coils 1.8-2.8 ohms primary. 10,000-16,000 secondary. infinity between primary and secondary wires |

I'm sure you already know this, but spray header pipes with water to determine which two are running and which two are not. Water will stay longer on the colder (not running) pipes.
