Default 2008 Nomad Viberation problem

I just bouught a new 2008 Nomad, so my wife could ride with me. The problem is that she is getting so much viberation I had to stop and let her off it was so bad. Everything I have read about this bike is now smooth they are. Any suggestions?

Dave

i just bought the 2008 nomad too, the only thing i find to get numb after about one hour of riding is my throttle hand...otherwise smooth.

Thanks for the reply. Kaw folks are telling us that this is normal for the back rest to pound you like a hammer. If that is true I can not help but think there are other 2008 owners with the same problem. Help Please1

Are you sure you have the shocks set to lll or llll and the air in the shocks set to 35-40psi? Also are the tires inflated to 38 Front/40 Rear?
Also, DO NOT use a regular air pump or compressor to inflate the shocks.
You must use a Zero loss shock pump. Using a normal compressor will not be accurate and will also destroy the shocks as well.

T'is very hard to find a V-twin that doesn't vibrate to a certain extent, but there must be something wrong if your wife is feeling the vibration on the back seat, and you're not, because both the driver's seat and rear seat are touching, so it' doesn't make sense to me that only the rear part of the bike is vibrating.

Thank for your response. We agree there must be something wrong when a new bike with less than 700 miles and from day one has this problem. I wish we could get the the dealer and the folks at Kawasaki to agree. Not send me home to fix it myself.

My 2008 Nomad passenger vibration problems are yet to be resolved. The backrest vibrates so bad it beat my wife servealy. Kaw people keep telling me vibration is normal but this is beyound normal. All I want is for these folks to ride as a passenger, then they will see what we are feeling. Also it is getting worse now there is vibration on the left drivers runningboard. Are we the only folks that have had this problem of feeling kicked out on the street with no one caring to solve this?

Where are you located? Maybe another forum member can stop over for a look. Have you checked the engine mount bolts? I'm sure it has been done but you never know.

I'd have them pull the wheels and balance them. If it's THAT bad, something isn't right.

I have taken it to the dealer in Fayetville were it was purchased, also the dealer in Murfreesboro and the one in Columbia. I just tonight read a post on this forum by searching the internet that brought me to this forum from a fellow that his wife will not ride on his Nomad with the same wording "she is being pounded in the back with a sledge hamme." Same as my wife.

All I can say is something ain't right.
My 1600 Classic (virtually identical to the Nomad) is fine.
Got 30k on it... most of it 2-up with my OL, and trust me... if she were being hammered, I'd hear about it.

Yep I hear on that one. Went to the dealer again yesterday he and tell me "I would not want this bike the vibration is so bad but we don't know how to fix it". I don't get it Kaw built the bike why can't they send a Rep. to check it out and tear down the motor. I must have had "Sucker" on my forehead when I walked in.

I honestly think it's an issue with the wheel balance.
