As for the ECU, he talked to Chaz about the details, but along with some testing of components, I THINK he told Chaz he had everything unhooked from the battery except the ECU and the battery was dead the next morning.

When Chaz called our local dealer (who we cringe having to use) and talked to someone in service, he told Chaz they could test the ECU and relays (another possibility according to our local mechanic) and know the cause within an hour We'll see......we're dropping it off today after work.
I just hope it works out for Chaz. I know how frustrating it can be.

You're right about that!!!!!!
After our PA Ride I ordered Chaz the Zumo 550. He had the Garmin Nuvi 660 from my car!!!!!! Well, the big brown truck delivered it Friday!!!! He has to wait and get his charging problem solved before he can install it!!!!

If the bike is wired correctly, there shouldn't be a problem. What I have seen is bikes that were never meant to have 47 things wired into them. Woman came in with a dead stator, reg/rec. She had 3 sets of lights on the bike. Looked like she was trying to light up a runway! Needles to say, the lights cooked her stator and reg/ rec.

I had a fuel problem on my p/u. After replacing most of the fuel components, it ended up being the ECU. It's just usually last on the list of things to die.

Ya, that's not a problem on the Nomad.
Dual stators, dual rectifier.
Output 42a @ 14v... 588 watts.
It only seems to drop about 10-15 amps at idle (someone posted a mag review that claimed 32a @ idle, but that spec is not in the service manual).
