Looks like a perished diaphragm from a CV carb, don't know if you'll manage to glue or repair it well enough for it to maintain either the vacuum it needs to work properly or without affecting the smooth rise and fall necessary for correct fuel metering at part throttle by the needle.

Whoa whoa there amigo! I've been around bikes for 35 years and while I may not be an expert, I, like many here cannot always tell what part of a bike your picture is from. It looks like a rear axel bearing. It looks like the inner housing for the alternator. It looks like a side cover for some bike. It looks like a horn diaphram. Cover for oil filters. Gasket assy for headlamp . Airbox boot for carburator. Anyways, have fun with your carb. overhaul.

It's the vacuum slide inside the carb. it's got a diaphram on the end of it. That's the one that was bad on my Vulcan when it was only running on one cylinder. He has one for each carb, I'm assuming.
S7, I don't know of any way to repair the rubber gasket. I'm guessing that's what is torn in the picture, correct? Your best bet is to buy a new one, but you could also check on the internet for used motorcycle parts and perhaps you can located a good used one. Not sure about shipping to your country though.

It looks like it was a Jelly donut, that got overcooked....easy to solve.
Make a new batch, and cook less time, they should be brown not black. ![]()

dam its not that hard to tell its a diaphram.
personally i would try super glueing them to see if they will hold/work first before buying 4 new ones. or get a set of old carbs off ebay. |

A lot of your posts are difficult to work through because you use different terms than we do for various parts... such as this one. "Valve vacuum" is probably a literal translation that actually should be phrased as "vacuum valve"... but as someone else mentioned, we call it a diaphragm. The diaphragm is a PART of what we would refer to as the valve. In "valve", we would normally be referring to the complete assembly with the actuator rod, cover, etc...

The only thing that I can think of that MIGHT work is Aquaseal. It's a glue similar to Shoo Goo or RTV, but it is VERY sticky, and it flows out very well. I actually use it to seal holes from stitching in my scuba drysuit. But I don't know if it's available in Ecuador.
