Mounted windshield vs Fairing

I have a 2000 KZ100-p19 (police special). The inside of the fairing (cowling) is shattered and completely un-reparable. After trying use of fiberglass and bondo, I've given up on that project. I am left with two options...(1) Buy a new/used fairing ($900 - $1,100) or (2) Find a mounted windshield that will fit. I went to the local dealer here and was told that he didn't know any one that makes mounted windshields for my ride.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix the old fairing or where to get a mounted windshield?

National Cycle or Memphis Shades. I have both on my bikes along with a Vetter fairing. I prefer just the windshield myself. Have you looked on ebay? Those police fairings come up for bid from time to time.....chris3

try the bike salvors. those KZP fairings can still be had, it just takes some digging.

I've never had a bike with fairing so cannot compare. I've three bikes with small aftermarket windshields all different brands and mounting. I'm quite happy with all of them. Seen a good many advertised in J&P Cycles.
