250 wont start

2003 ninja 250 stock... ok fella's im not that great with trouble shooting this stuff now that i am at this point. got the bike from another guy that treated the bike like crap.. unknown amount of time the bike was not running.. after i got it i fixed the timing got it started only to find the head gasket was blown.. replaced the head gasket and plugs.. been aprox 2 months and now it will not start.. will turn over and with a lil eaither try to but no go.. i think the gas might be bad.. smells a bit weird and is a deep amber color.. cleaned carbs and still no go.. both plugs fire.. good compression out the pipes.

Drain the carbs and gas tank and put new gas in. Pull the plugs and make sure it has a strong blue spark. Orange or weak spark is bad.

ok did all that and re-gapped the plugs.. sprayed some eather and tried to crank her and she backfired on me but still didnt start.. pulled plug and not wet at all.. i know the carbs are getting fuel but i dont know if the plugs are.. she will only try and fire up when i spray eaither.. so i am thinking one of four things... timing issue, bad plugs, no fuel getting to the cylinders, or last the head is warped and i missed it and she isnt getting the compression she should

Not drawing fuel into the cyl, backfiring, head has been off, sounds like you might have the cam timing out of sync.

retimed the bike still backfireing and not drawing fuel.. when i pulled the carbs the jets are blocked entirely.. got a mechanic and a friend coming to help me out

I'll ask this just because it happened to another mbr recently. Are you absolutely sure you didn't get the cams swapped and now in the wrong positions?

actually the manual shows to put them in backwards but no i didnt.
