Exclamation Mo handlebars, Mo problems

Bike: 1983 Kawasaki Spectre 550.
Mod: Superbike bars
Status: Was running till I did all that tugging on my handlbar controls to get them off the old ape hangers. Now everything is installed on the new bars, but the controls are unresponsive;

No headlight/high beams, no turn signals/hazards, no brake lights, no fuel/oil lights and the real heart breaker - NO STARTER! (no kick-start).

Good news: fuses are good AND my neutral light comes on. So I have juice. My best guess is that I crossed a wire (esp. since controls on neither the left or right are working), but I followed to the best of my ability and I don't think the left and right control wires even converge on a single point.

Cost: Without my electric start, I can't even hobble her to a mechanic (it's a long push). House calls are a $175 (basically - fuel and oil changes for the rest of this riding season and next). Plus paying a mechanic is a moral defeat, I bought this bike to learn everything about it. Also, I am in NE and the last weeks of my riding season are quickly slipping away!

Ok, if you've hung in with me so far, thank you. If you have words of wisdom, grease monkey experience or charitable contributions, they are much appreciated. Ping me on this thread or send it to asaad.m.bhamla@gmail.com.
Thanks and good riding (or in my case sitting on my Spectre and making "vroom" sounds...)

Sounds like you pulled a wire loose. With everything not getting power, I'd start looking at the wires going to the kill switch.
