Hey folks,
I've been lurking in this forum for quite a while now and i must say there's a lot of good info on here. Big props to the people that make this forum what it is! A little background on myself: I took the MSF course last weekend and hopefully purchasing a used 2007 ninja 250 in the next day or two (sale is pending). Speaking of which, how important is the pre-purchase inspection when buying a used bike? I'm going with my gut instinct on this one since the bike is in excellent condition and it comes with the GTPP warranty till 2010. The current owner took the bike to the dealer and did the inspection back in July when he bought it. I'm jumping the gun on this one since used Kawi 250's are hard to come by my area and I'm kinda iffy on spending $4K+ on a 09 for my first bike. Any comments/suggestions? |

Hi Jaspah,
Inspecting a used bike before buying is very important, but it seems like you're already pretty sure you're getting a good deal. If you were unsure you could always make the sale contingent on an inspection at the shop of your choice. Good luck, sounds like a nice bike. Sadly there were no such gems around my town and I ended up spending a lump of cash on my 08.

Actually, no new KAWIs might be a blessing in disguise. As you've probably read on the forums already, most everyone will tell you your first bike should be used. It sure hurts a lot less when you drop it! Oh and uh...did you raid my closet?

that is true. i've read so many forum questions/debates on the new vs. used for a first bike and it does make more sense to go with used. it's just a lil bit tedious when buying used (endless hours looking at craigslist, etc) but it's worth the $$$. about the outfit, nah i got this from a guy that sold ramen in the back of his van
