Glad you did. I can feel your pain on the knees. I've had a few bikes my self, over the years, and I got off a couple of them in weird and various ways. None of them good for the knees.
I am trying to work up the courage to have the joints replaced...I tell myself...hahaha...(he laughs weakly). that i'm just waiting for the riding season to be over. Right now the test of if I go riding or not is if I can get my leg over the seat, without passing out from the pain, and I have a very high pain threshold. I have the bike lowered 3 inches, and that helps some. Aleve helps also, and when I do get on, every thing else feels alright. Knees don't hurt, and I can take long rides, without pain. I'm very happy I can do that. I know people that would kill just to do half that. When you mentioned dual sports it reminded me of a 69 Ducati, that I once owned. It was a 500cc single cylinder, and had enough torque to climb a tree. It had knobby tires on it, and I enjoyed it, on and off the road. This post is getting kinda long winded and filled with a lot that you probably don't really care to hear about...if it is, just say so and I'll quit being so windy.
