    Default tourrorist season

for those that live in beach communities or near tourist attractions, this weekend marks the end of peace and tranquility in the neighborhood. summertime brings mixed emotions. the warmer breeze and longer days are very nice, but being infiltrated by coco butter marinated landlubbers is sometimes daunting.

riding the meanie is out of the question. the tourrorists run stops signs and drive with their heads up their posteriors looking for beach parking. at the end of the day, they're tired and or drunk and have nothing on their minds but getting back to the 909 or another inland paradise.

ran to the grocery store earlier in the day and traffic was already backed up on Main Street. slammed on the brakes going around a curve as a suburban driven by a teenybopper (google image search that yourself) in the opposite direction was completely in my lane. luckily, i was in the cage, but the cage is a Miata and at just over a 2100 lbs, it's no match against a 7,000 pound detroit dinosaur.

please, stay safe. don't drink and drive or ride or pretend to ride and keep your eyes on the road and yo hand upon the wheel.

just kidding about the 909. Rich, you're welcome down here anytime. i'll buy you lunch, brother. meet me at Fiesta Grill on 17th whenever you like.

Carlos, the owner, has the best damned Mexican food this side of the border. the HB motor cops seem to favor the place, too. it's fun watching them checkout my meanie when they're there.

I know how you feel. We get a bunch of tourists right up the street. They come in tour buses, and gather at this chinese restaurant at the end of my street. They walk down our street and take pictures of what I don't know. You have to watch too, they cross the street without even looking. They drive horrible as well.
You only live once, get out there, enjoy it, and have no regrets!

We'll my boss has a vending machine in the back lot stocked with cold Bud!

That's high-tech compared to the cooler he used to have back there!

In Colorado we call them "visitors", and we have a season, too, just like deer and elk:

where I live we have a couple of weekends march-april depending on when the flowers bloom that all the city dwellers come up and turn our farm fields into parking lots. These people drive their cars off the road into the fields right past signs that read

    no stopping on roadway
    stay on road
    keep out of fields

    etc...

they stop their cars in the middle of the road and get out and go walking in the flowers...

    idiots

fortunately for us, its only a few weekends of pain and when the cut the blooms off the flowers they go away.

I'm surprised they would want to get those expensive cars dirty.
