Steve, just out of curiosity because I know you are a bit of a gardener (it's a shame about that hill BTW) but as an expert, can you tell the breed of snail just from the sound of it whizzing by?

Basically, the band I'm in is playing a gig at Helen's Hilltop, a biker bar outside of Leavenworth on August 8th. A bunch of the crazy Donkey thread regulars from Canada, Missouri, Kentucky, Arizona and Alabama (did I forget any place?) are gonna try and make it down here to party and meet face to face.

In short, it's a great excuse to meet and party

Being a relative newbie to the forum, I'm curious about the Donkey thread. Can someone fill me in? I read the original Reservoir posting. I take it it's just a mix of topics, whatever is currently on your mind? Is there a significance to the song lyrics?

None of it makes sense, or has a point.

Just jump in and post.

if you miss 10 pages because you had to go do something for an hour, just jump back in.

all pics of you they can get a hold of WILL be photoshoped, and usually not in a good way.

Sarcasm is greatly appreciated.

if your skin is thin, stay out of the donkey overload thread, great bunch, but we tend to hassle people, and the real sensitive types could get hurt feelings...its not intentional, just collateral damage.

Yeah. What he said.

It's really just a bunch of people talking about whatever comes up. Since we all love to ride we do talk about bikes and riding and gear and mods. A lot.

Yeah, I've noticed that here, not much flaming going on. Not like other forums I've visited. Much friendlier place, this.

Thanks for the clarification. Think I might try the Reservoir waters from time to time (pun intended).

By all means... MEET DONKEY!

PSNinja, Donkey... Donkey, PSNinja!

I see it's been relatively covered... Donkey came to us in November of '08 and has been a fixture ever since. I'm proud to have been chosen by him as his keeper, but he's got a life of his own... and as you can tell, has a lot of friends!

The lyrics... it's fun to hang out in the Donkey thread, it's fast moving, so a lot gets covered. But there are RARE times when no one is around, and sometimes you just want to drop a random thought, and sometimes it's a song you like... and whenever anything new comes up, it catches on! So we formed a virtual radio station... W-DNKY, and if you want a share a song, you share it!

The POINT is that it MAKES NO SENSE!

I like to think of it as a place to drop all the random thoughts you feel like dropping without starting another new thread that'll get half a dozen posts and then die off...

Bikes? No. We don't talk about bikes in there. Some TRY... We end that pretty quick.

And I don't know who this is, or why he's saying such things.

BY ALL MEANS!!!

You should know...

We HIGHLY regard the sanctity and status of the "Almighty Post Count"... you may find some people posting for the sake of posting!

We celebrate victories, like who got post #14,500. It's what we do.

But no matter what, IT'S A LOT OF FUN!

(And probably intimidating as hell for a newbie! Glad you asked!)

And watch for hat changes... Donkey LOVES his hats!!!

And don't tell us that you read it all, otherwise we'll test you!!!

(I think I'm done now)...

Okey Dokey - Or should I say Okey Donkey?

Sorry it took so long to post. Charlie did a great job getting BT here in a timely manner. He arrived the day before my last day of work for the summer, so I decided that he should come along with me to work/school for the day knowing that today (Thursday 6/25) promised excellent weather for an adventure. So, here is...

A Day in the Life of BT in Spokane, WA as told by BT Donkey- courtesy Pat (aka PSNinja) and Kevin Shelley.
(ignore the date stamp - camera is abit screwy there)

At Pat's office, we find me checking out a kiddo's graduation credits. Sorry, kid, not enough to graduate with your class.

Then, the next day, bright and early - well bright anyway, we head off for brunch at The Rocket Bakery. It's a locally owned and operated place with THE BEST coffee and made-on-site pastries. Sorry Starbucks. That's Kevin reading the Inlander. He rides a Suzuki.

I had an iced mocha and a berry scone - yummy!

After brunch, we headed downtown. Spokane hosts a 12K run (Bloomsday) every May to kick off the Lilac Festival. This is a sculpture downtown dedicated to all the participants. I got to ride in the lap of one of the Bloomies.

Next we checked out prep for another Spokane sporting event - Hoopfest. It's the nation's largest 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament. I got a little "caught up" in the spirit of things.

A River Runs Through It. That would be the Spokane River and downtown Spokane . Riverfront Park is built along the river. It was the site of the 1974 World's Fair. That's Pat keeping me from falling off the bridge. Thanks, Pat!

After leaving downtown, we head west and ride in the West Plains. Lots of farmland there. In this shot of me relaxing on Pat's cushy lamb's wool seat, you can see Mt. Spokane in the background. Lots of outdoor activities are available up there, winter and summer.

Here I am with my new riding buddy - Hello Kitty. We're at Riverside State Park. It's a HUGE wilderness area located along the river just 3 miles from downtown. Man, you gotta love this place!!!

And here I am, still in Riverside State Park, at the really cool suspension bridge over the river. Lots of rafting and kayaking go on here.

Well, we had a great morning! All of this cool and diverse stuff, and we only went about 50 miles roundtrip. What a great place!! But, it's time to move on. No, Kitty, you can't come along. Sorry. Maybe we'll meet again someday.

Ok, my bags are packed. I'm ready to go. Who do I get to visit with next?!?!?!?! PM your snail mail address to PSNinja and the first one in gets to host me next.

Oh, hey, Donkey, thanks for all of the info about the Donkey Thread. I'm sorry to say that I am now addicted to that thread - much to the chagrin of my hubby and son.

He was an absolutely delightful guest. I really hate to see him go! I'm going to have to adopt my own Donkey now.

Oh, and I added a pin to go along with the Air Force pin you included.

WOW!!! AWESOME!!! This really IS going to be a blast!!!

This was only an hour ago... so I'm not going to PM. I'm saving that for a couple REALLY big events I want to try to make sure I get in on, and I don't want to be a hog!!!

Make sure you let us know when he's on the move again!!! OF COURSE, as usual, he SURE LOOKS LIKE HE REALLY ENJOYED HIMSELF!!!
