Default How to make for an interesting ride....

I was bored out of my skull so I decided to go for a ride, even though it is dark out and the whole area is engulfed in a light mist and fog....

btw - Rain-X works only so well on faceshields.

Hey Chris, I was out your way yesterday and it was wet and gloomy then! I'll be glad when this d__n weather system is outa here. We're still getting some of it out here in eastern Ny.

I've done some riding in some really dense fog. Once you get past the fact that you have no clue what's going on around you , it's pretty cool - some serious isolation!

Last I heard from the meteorologists was that the weather was supposed to break tomorrow - Thursday around here.
I'll believe it when I see it.

It's not too bad really, I've been using/bringing my 1-piece rainsuit to work for the heavy rain.

Last year I was on a highway going to meet up with another forum member for a ride in western MA and VT doing about 70mph when I ran into a DENSE fog bank. That scared to poop out of me not being able to see more than 50 ft in front of me. I just missed a trailer chock-block that was in the middle of the highway by about a foot.

Chris, I know what you mean! This morning's ride into work was a nightmare. Not only was it pouring, but my faceshield kept fogging up inside. I'd crack the shield long enough for it to clear, then had to put it back down cuz the rain was pelting me in the face. Needless to say, not fun.

The weather is supposed to break tomorrow. Actually I think its beginning to break now. Bret and I just got back from seeing the second Transformers movie, and took the bike out for a quick ride. Its warm and humid. But it was a lovely ride.

I have some anti-fog stuff for the inside of my shield - I'll bring it saturday so you can look for it at your local dealership.

The problem I have is since I wear glasses, I can't just lift up the faceshield when its rainy or foggy or misting out.

Chris, I've got the same problem except with my contacts. The slightest bit of wind will dry my eyes out and blur my vision. The slightest bit of dirt under my contacts will cause a lot of pain and force me to pullover, most likely blind at that point. I've actually been having a lot of problems with my contacts lately. I need to invest in another pair of glasses for those days when my eyes are too dry to even think about putting the contacts in.

How about some safety-glasses or sunglasses with clear lenses that conform to your face maybe?

It's been raining, what 2 weeks now? I checked the weather and it shows "chance of rain" for the next 10 days!

I use clear glasses, and a big @$$ windshield. All you have to do is find the sweet spot.

Frenchy, its been raining for a month here. Granted, off and on, but mostly on. Our forecast for tomorrow is decent. Friday and Saturday are supposed to be gorgeous, sunny and 80s.

Can you safely do that, while riding at speed? and alone?

Well, it will be a long ride home alone...

Speaking of finding the sweet spot, my wife is expecting our second. We got Dr confirmation today. Due in Feb. And I did that with almost no practice at all!

Thanks. And we were just starting to potty train. At least we're still fresh at it. Hopefully it's a girl. One of each and done. We're on a go 'til girl deal, sooooo... On the other hand, If it's a boy I won't have to move again. We're in a 2 bed 2 bath, that won't work for long.
