Apparently, I'm in a bit of a minority on this one around here but I'm completely baffled by people's responses. A wedding is a celebration of the commitment made by two people who (typically anyhow) love each other very much and have chosen to spend the rest of their lives together. Keyword is celebration! Why should solidifying the fact that you've found the one you'll spend the rest of your life with be a somber and serious event? Simply because you're having fun doesn't mean you're not taking the event serious. How many of us take riding and safety serious...and yet have fun doing it? I would much rather watch a couple celebrate THEIR day in a way that they'll enjoy and remember for the rest of their lives than give in to someone else's archaic beliefs of how such an important event should take place.

Now, I'll preface this comment with the fact that it's not intended directly at those whom I've quoted but more as an observation in general. For a group of people who love to complain about freedom's being taken away, there's often a lot of judgement being thrown around when one's free choices don't fit in with their beliefs. Live and let live.

    Congrats.

Exactly, being able to have a good laugh seems to be forgotten among a lot of people today. While we didn't take our wedding ceremony to that extreme, we took the vows very seriously. Our reception, however, was a sight to behold. We had my father in law dressed in a tartan jumpsuit and wearing a red wig dancing around with a very good friend who wore a kilt, a cowboy hat, and not much else. My wife had her wedding dress made in two pieces so she could exchange the bottom half for jeans after the ceremony and ride her bike back to our house. Both my wife and I know that having a good sense of humour is crucial in keeping our relationship fresh and healthy.

Without it, things get boring. I married that friend who always laughs at things you just shouldn't laugh at. Gets me in trouble all the time!

It's their wedding they can do whatever they want that the official will agree to. Too many people get hung up with the rituals and forget that those aren't beliefs.

Maybe they got all somber and serious at the reception?

Loved the video even if they looked like dorks doing it, who cares? If you can't have fun, let loose and enjoy yourself in a room full of your closest friends and family on a special day like that, when can you?

...and as for taking wedding vows seriously? C'mon people, wedding vows haven't been taken seriously since your grandparents got married

Heck... why not. Sometimes people just get married for the sake of getting married; this couple looks like they enjoy being together so much they were comfortable enought to celebrate it in their own way.

some of you guys need to loosen up a little. its a cute idea, its their wedding, a celibration of their union. personally, not my cup of tea, but it is still cute. looks like it fit their personalities. its better than another stuffy wedding.....

    I loved it!

The whole group obviously spent many hours practicing this. Seems like a bunch of good friends that enjoy each other's company celebrating a special moment.

    Good for them!
