This is a somewhat separate issue, however we've been bamboozled into the supposed assumption that one is innocent until proven guilty. But the court system is loaded against anyone brought to trial - unless they qualify for a public defender they have to pay for their own defense while the prosecution is taxpayer-funded and has the resources of the government behind it.

Ok so after having the time to read a more detailed article... all I can say is that in my opinion this is 100% a case about the "system" failing miserably, and it's damn sad.

Now they're saying someone raped and killed a bunch of women in the late 90's and that "the police believe that Mr. Garrido once worked at the location where several of the bodies were found."... WHAT!?!?

So, even if that case happens to be a complete coincidence, HOW THE HELL do they miss the fact that a KNOWN SEX OFFENDER has connections to where the bodies were found!?!??!

Shouldn't someone at least have gone to pay him a visit just to check him out? I mean holy crap!!!

I'm sorry - but I think America needs to take a stand on this one - and change all the rules. These 2 horrific people should be executed slowly in a public execution with huge signs indicating that we will NOT tolerate this in our country. These 2 a$$holes need to have their skin literally stripped from their bodies. Yeh - that's harsh - but if that were MY kid - I'd get into prison to take care of them myself. Begging for death would not help them. Sorry - but this is beyond horrific on their part. I hope I don't hear another soccer mom complaining about the abuse of the terrorists in Cuba. I read in a novel once, (Tom Clancy) I believe, about a combination torture/execution method that might seem appropriate for scum like this.

A Hyperbaric Chamber, oscillating between positive and negative atmospheres, in ever increasing increments until death occurs (usually as a result of extreme case of the "Bends", extremely painful).

This kind of punishment could take days to complete. Appropriate punishment for those that inflict inhumane treatment upon others for extended periods of time.

Yeah sadly they police did visit him. Turns out he had a huge yard with a couple of fake property line fences.

Right now experts say Jaycee is going though a stage of extreme euphoria but that will soon be replaced by anger at her parents for not keeping her safe. She's going to have a lot of emotions to deal with and she's going to need a lot of help.

I wonder about her children. I wonder if they were molested also. I wonder if they can even read. The youngest girl is 11, the same age as Jaycee was when she was abducted.

I wonder if anyone is going to turn out ok. I hope they're strong.

I came back to edit this post as I just read a new story this morning. Turns out that Jaycee has very strong feelings for the guy. She considers herself to be his wife. She was raped within a month of her abduction but does not consider it a rape now.

Her first words to her mother were "Hi mommy, I have babies now".

As a diver and instructor I've watched people with the bends. It is very painful. It's also pretty difficult to maintain a level of pain or even bring them in and out without killing them. Mild cases of the bends are easily treated in a recompression chamber but when it gets severe you aren't really sure what results will have. Many chambers require an attendent to go along for the ride which is also dangerous for them.

I'm not a soccer mommy myself and I've never grieved for those *******s in Hotel Gitmo. I suspect all those soccer moms who do grieve for terrorists would be all over this punishment for Jaycee's rapists.
