Are The Browns the worst team in the NFL?

After watching the old Browns(Ravens) vs the new Browns I feel bad for you Ryan. Brady Quinn is just horrible but his receivers have to be the worst in the league. The offence would have a hard time beating USC which is not very difficult this year. The Defence has some talent and a little heart but the offence is just pitiful. With everything that is coming out this week about
Mancini he needs to go but the defensive coach doesnt get enough guys on the field? They will need every draft pick to find some receivers and did I mention Quinn sucks. Sorry Ryan I think they are the worst team in the league.

They need more than draft picks. Teams like this get high draft picks every year and never do anything with them.

As far as USC goes, there's no way any college team is beating even the worst NFL team. The NFL game is way too fast and the players are too skilled. I was watching a college game recently and was thinking how slow they looked because I'm used to watching the NFL. Even the act of a handoff seemed to take forever.

They looked pretty good in the first half. at least the defense did. The offense in the second half went to pieces though. Their receives stink. Their line did no good at picking up the blitz. The coaches play calls were dumb. how do you go with an empty backfield against a blitzing team like the ravens and expect the QB to be able to do anything??? I feel sorry for you Ryan, the entire franchise seems to be screwed up!

Dan, Thanks for the insight between college and the pros. I was making the point that there offence smelled like fish thats been left out in the sun too long. I played at the college and a small stint in the NFL so I actually really know the differance but my sarcastic side making the comparison. The game was painful to watch. The only good that came out of it for Cleveland is that there defence played pretty well and never gave up and that they are assured to have a really high draft pick This year. I think they have 11 overall picks so if they are smart they could get 4-5 potential starters. Hopefully a QB and a couple of recievers and a offence lineman would be a good start. I hope for Ryans sake they do because I feel his pain. Did I mention Quinn sucks? a couple of times I thought he was going to cry on the side lines.

I wasn't questioning your knowledge Brett- but you see quotes like that all the time, comparing the worst NFL team to the best college team.

It makes me wonder if they (and some of the other perennial bottom dwellers) know how to evaluate picks, or even more so, if they know how to develop their young players. Quinn was supposed to be a great player when he came out yet he's done nothing. You see a lot of teams doing that- Raiders are another one- constantly get high draft picks who never live up to their billing. There has to be a reason for it.

Your totally right Dan, and you would think or at least hope with 11 or so picks that they should find a few starters as for the Raiders thats a completly different story because Al Davis doesnt follow his scouts advice he drafts players because they look like or remind him of some of the great players that used to be on the team. The Raiders may get lucky once in a while but until ole Al kicks the bucket that team is going to continue to suck.

I figured this thread would be revived after last night. Yep, the offesnse sucks for sure. I'm not ready to throw the towel in on Quinn. He's only started 7 games. The line couldn't block to give him a chance to throw down the field. They play calling didn't even seem to be looking down the field. The receivers are not developing. It's just a mess. What really sucks is the fact that the D actually played a good game. Held the Ravens to under 200 yards passing and I believe under 100 yards rushing. That hasn't happened in awhile.

Yeah, they have 11 picks next draft right now. But that doesn't mean shat if they don't make the right picks. Which is something they have been doing wrong every draft since they came back.

Like I said about Quinn, he looked better last year in his starts then this year. I gotta believe it's the coaching. Both Quinn and DA regressed tremendously this season. I don't believe for a second that they are just this bad at being a QB in the NFL. It's up to the coaching to form them into NFL caliber players and they don't seem able to do that. Of course, maybe they are just that bad.

The O coordinator, Brian Daboll, is HORRIBLE!!!!!!! I honestly don't know if it was Quinn not looking down the field or if the play calling wasn't allowing for it. Take a freaking shot down the field. What do you have to lose?!

Other than when the Browns left in 95, this is the lowest point I can remember being a Browns fan. It's just pathetic right now!
