Angry No respect....

I just came back from the grocery store. When I came out there was a grocery cart pushed up against my left mirror. Luckily that is where I hung my helmet before going into the store. I know this is a common problem with car owners, but this is the first time someone tried to ding my bike!!

That's why I park towards the back typically unless it's raining. Plus, it's a bit of extra exercise. Nothing much...but it's sure not going to hurt!

I've had people push carts into spaces I was actually in the process of pulling into (in the truck). One time, some lady did that to me as I was nearly halfway in and she turns around and walks back to her car.

I beep my horn at her. No response.

Down comes my window. "Hey!" I yell out to here. "What's your problem?!"

She looks at me as if to ask what my problem is.

"Move the freakin' cart!" I yell. She decides to start unlocking her car.

"Lady, get your lazy a** over here, get your cart, and put it in the cart return that is RIGHT BEHIND YOU...because if I have to move it, it's going through your windshield...clear?" - I say, with a hiss that says I really, really mean it.

She returned it.

When she got back to her car, I looked over and said, "welcome to personal responsibility..."

I got in the habit of walking just to avoid parking next to "questionable" vehicles. Those used to be the ones with rust, dents and dings in them. Then it was minivans until the power sliding door came along. Now it's luxury cars and SUVs.

I'll park next to classic cars, tricked out pickups and motorcycles any day.

Best TV parking lot scene, ever:

YouTube - Malcolm in the Middle Road Rage

Edited because I found a better version with the whole sequence.

I have an 86 Toyota pickup. The paintjob is 100% Krylon. Almost 300K miles. I don't care what happens to it. I keep comprehensive on it for the idiots who want to leave carts and such. That money comes in handy

I have been known to push carts out of a parking spot with the truck.

I once watched a woman in Walmart leave her cart in a spot next to her car. The return was like 2 spots away.

I waited until she was in her seat but the door wasn't shut, then I called out and said, "You forgot something!" and pointed to the cart. As I expected, she took that to mean that there was still something in the cart. As she approached the cart, she realized it was empty and gave me a look. I said, "You forgot to put it away."

At that point she requested that I do something biologically impossible, and turned to go back to her car. I told her that it would be a shame for that cart to hit an expensive car with a note with her license plate number on it. At that point she decided that it really was best to put the cart away.

You just have to explain it right to some people.

people really hate it when i take their left behind cart and slowly take it in with me, course i loiter around their fancy new car. just at the point if the try to run me over, they will eat the cart. of course in Texas if they try to run you down, you can shoot them!!!

A few years ago when I lived in San Diego, my wife and I were shopping at a Costo membership store in Santee California, I had parked our car in Costco's lot,was walking to meet my wife, and noticed as I was walking, a woman yaking on her cell phone(as most women do!).

She was pushing a loaded shopping cart between two parked cars, and did not judge her distance well and clipped a side mirror(the expensive cable operated type) breaking it off it's mounting bracket.

I was far enough away she didn't see me, but I was hoping she would take responsibility for her actions by leaving a note. She attempted to re-attach the mirror by forcing it back on the by now shattered mounts, but gave up and walked to her car.

All the while she continued to yak, planning who knows what, she got in her car and drove off, I fortunately memorized her license plate, make and model of her car,and wrote that along with what happened on a piece of paper, slipping it under the wiper blades.

I'd imagine she had a surprise when either an insurrance company called or the police did about the problem.

Ya know, one time I was leaving a Toys R Us after picking up one thing. I had to go in to the Best Buy next door and didn't have a cart but hte people in the next car over did. They unloaded it and just let it go. Sure enough it rolled across the way and bounced off some youngsters shiny new Jetta. He yells over, I point at the couple, who are oblivious. Next thing I know he's in my face yelling at me. I pooped my trunk and showed him my little bag and suggested he get stupid with the people who actually were the problem. But htey had driven off. I also pointed out to him that running up on people in a parking lto can and will get you seriously hurt. I had at leastan inch and 50 pounds on the guy, and it would NOT have been a fair fight. I just don't get the average person nowadays.
